The Mary Hirst
Landscape
Competition

1st. 'Skeletal Camel-Thorn trees
at Dead Vlei'
(P)
by Trevor Davenport ARPS, DPAGB

"This picture was taken at a place called "Dead Vlei" in the Namibian Desert. It can be reached with special 4 wheeled vehicles but we walked the 6.5 Kms to get there and so lost the best early light. It's a fantastic place, rather eerie with long dead camelthorn trees stranded in the desert after their river changed course a long time ago. " TREVOR
